I was honestly expecting the worst, but the team from Safe Hands Relocation handled it like true pros. They kept a great attitude the entire time, never once complained, and worked incredibly fast and efficiently despite the stairs and the long walk. They simply brokered the job to an actual carrier. I found this out by checking the DOT website. Unlike Safe Hands Relocation (USDOT 4203266), which is listed as a direct, licensed carrier for household goods , this other company didn’t appear with any carrier authority. That was my first big red flag—if they can’t show DOT registration and carrier authority, it likely means they’re not equipped to perform the move themselves. The entire experience felt sketchy: I paid a deposit upfront, never got a clear estimate or contract, and on moving day—nothing. When I reached out, there was no truck, no crew, no explanation. Just silence. And because I paid in advance, I couldn’t get the money back. It wasn’t until I checked DOT records that I saw they were just brokering out the move, not actually conducting it themselves—meaning no truck, no accountability, no one to show up.

They offered me the option to have everything professionally packed and wrapped, which honestly gave me so much peace of mind. It did cost a little extra, but considering what I was moving, it was well worth it. On moving day, their crew showed up with all the right materials—blankets, pads, shrink wrap, and custom boxes. They wrapped each piece like it was their own and labeled everything clearly so I’d know exactly where it was when it came time to unpack. I’ve had bad experiences in the past with items arriving scratched or broken, but this time around, not a single thing was damaged.
