Read More With my move, everything initially seemed fine - I scheduled my move from Pennsylvania to New York and set up pick up window of three hours, in order to reserve my building's elevator. The day of, they initially said they will be able to make it but are running behind, but completely miss the window, so I need to reschedule. I think: fine, things happen. The next time - mind you, this is a week later, the earliest time they were willing to give me - the same thing happens. At this point, I need to move urgently because I'm starting a new job. So I ask for a refund of my deposit. They completely refuse to do this. I threaten doing a chargeback given that I (rightly) have no confidence in their ability to facilitate my move. They of course confidently assure me that I will lose the dispute. Well, I did initiate the chargeback, and it succeeded (my guess is because this is an awful business that is probably inundated with chargebacks - of course, I don't know that for a fact, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were that case). Please, dear god, do not patronize this business if you do not want to risk wasting your time. Go with a moving company that is NOT a broker - I'm guessing these brokers tend to operate on this kind of systematized incompetence. No need to deal with a middle man if you don't have to.
