Read More AmeriSafe Van Lines, a moving broker hired a moving company operating under the name “Illinois Movers” to relocated me one state to another. AmeriSafe threw me to the wolves after paying an initial payment of $5000. They were not concerned about the deceptive business practices, unexpected charges, and damage to my personal property during an interstate move. From the beginning of my experience, there were significant concerns regarding transparency and accuracy. At the time of pickup, the “medium” and “large” boxes I ordered were substantially smaller than standard box sizes typically sold by major retailers such as Home Depot or Lowe’s. Despite already purchasing boxes, I was informed that I needed to pay an additional $1,000 for larger boxes. Due to the urgency of relocating for a new job, I felt I had no reasonable alternative but to proceed with the additional charge. The boxes provided in exchange for this payment were not consistent with what was represented. They were comparable in size to standard medium boxes and did not justify the additional cost. During the delivery process, I was again pressured to pay additional money beyond the agreed-upon terms. I firmly declined these requests. Additionally, my belongings were handled in a careless and negligent manner. Items were packed improperly, including liquid products being placed on top of personal items, resulting in potential contamination. Two shower rods were broken, and many of the boxes—particularly those I paid a premium for—arrived damaged.

The Cordination between teams was impressive, and everything was delivered safely and on time. The staff was courteous, experienced, and very details oriented. I would absolutely trust them again for any future moves.

Never, ever, book a move with Amerisafe! We signed a binding estimate last March, based on a 3000 cubic foot move. When Rick and his crew arrived last Wednesday, not in a ... Read More Never, ever, book a move with Amerisafe! We signed a binding estimate last March, based on a 3000 cubic foot move. When Rick and his crew arrived last Wednesday, not in an Amerisafe truck, but in a rental, the first Red Flag went up. He subsequently boosted the amount to $24k, insisting that his "Best Price" would have to be cash! So, we got him $11,500, on top of the $8495 we paid in March, plus an additional $750 for "tips," part of which covered packing items that had previously been approved. He then added additional "Bulk item" fees for our Fridge, washer/dryer and chest freezer, even though, as noted in our initial contract, they were already covered! We do not like him, trust him, or have real confidence that our possessions will arrive in a reasonable amount of time, if at all!!
