Read More Starline are BROKERS! They will contract with a business you don't know! Starline are just the middlemen. Guess what that means? When the real movers show up, they can treat you any way they want, and you are stuck dealing with them for your possessions, while Starline just sits back and collects the money and holds no accountability. And they do not book good movers. LISTEN TO ME: HIRE YOUR OWN MOVERS!! I KNOW it's expensive. But you will be paying nearly the same for "Starline" and whoever they choose in the end, because of the added fees. HIRE MOVERS YOURSELF, THAT YOU HAVE VETTED. Starline are brokers. They will contract with a moving company for your move and you won't know who until the last minute, so you can't even look them up and compare prices or reviews. My contractor was Cita Van Lines. Here's what happens: The movers show up late, the boss driver guy will act completely incredulous that you have so much stuff, and demand $xxxx extra money to move you. At this point you are exhausted, mentally drained, and you will just pay the extra money. After the fact? They bent the frame of the only couch I really even cared about moving, so it no longer reclines. They somehow "lost" several boxes and a lamp in particular I remember asking him to take. I have no idea why it's so hard to put stuff on a truck, drive it, and deliver it. Yes, it's physically demanding. But how hard is it to just be honest? These people are dealing with folks who are under egregious amounts of stress, and they know it. And they will rip you off, ask you to not say anything to anyone, and then lose/damage/mishandle/break your stuff. Do not book with Starline - Rent a UHaul or your own movers you've vetted - you're going to pay the same no matter what, and you won't have to deal with the aftermath!!

Once you give a deposit you don’t get it back- and you are stuck; sales guy was too good to be true, then the logistics person she tells you, you need more space and you give the measurements and says this should be good… the movers show up and double it, tell you those items aren’t listed on the contract and not enough room; even though everything is listed out.. the pick up guys were asking for cash from my 78 year old father in law and we’re supposed to be there between 8:00am and noon, showed up at 5:00pm - so price went from $1950, to $2932, $4692!! For under 50 small boxes ( not medium as quoted) a corner China cabinets, 4 piece wall unit and a small hutch… loopholes everywhere in the contract- beware

Terrible communication on important matters

Read More This company is a scam. They do not follow through with contracts or their policy. I had to cancel my move and did so in writing within the timeframe indicated in the contract. I also received communication in writing that I would be eligible for a refund. Still 9 months later I have not received a refund and no one will answer our emails asking what could be delaying our refund. The customer service line does not help and only asks that we email to follow up. No one will answer our emails and that is the problem. We have now had to ask our bank to help dispute the amount in hopes that we can finally get our deposit back.

Read More Let me telling you if hiring a moving company was this easy i wouldn't have moved myself all these years. My husband just got transferred over for a new job. With having a new baby i wasnt able to do any of the packing. Starline came to my home packed everything amazingly fast and professionally, something that i thought was going to be all day was done in 5 hours. They are a broker but the crew they sent out was amazing. I would recommend you to use them. They do have a few bad reviews but my Representative did explain to me that the more thorough i am the less chance of any surprises. Wonderful!

Lied to Me

They are just a brokerage company that will say anything to get you to sign a contract. I explained in the estimate that I had a 10x10x8 storage unit that I hadn't seen ... Read More They are just a brokerage company that will say anything to get you to sign a contract. I explained in the estimate that I had a 10x10x8 storage unit that I hadn't seen in years, and was going to clean out a week before the move. Star Line told me the best thing to do was estimate high at the full 10x10x8 unit, and I was promised that I would only be charged for the actual cubic feet I used in my move. That way I would end up owing less upon drop-off than the original quote I was given. The week prior, I asked about adjusting the estimate based on images, and never received a response. The day before pick up, I call and ask about changing the amount and was told that it was done at the pick up. Day of the pick up, I have a bill of lading from another company with an 800cuft minimum. I tell that company, "no, this is wrong, I have way less" but because Star Lines sold them an 800cuft minimum, it cannot be adjusted. I call Star Line and they tell me to just sign the contract and that they will make it right later. After WEEKS of promised phone calls going unreturned and a lot of "it's adjusted after this," or "we haven't heard from the new company about that," I'm told by Star Lines that because I signed the other company's bill of lading (at Star Line's direction, mind you) that there was nothing they could do and I had to pay the full fee. They refuse to take any accountability, and told me to talk to the new company. The new company didn't lie to me - Star Line did. Star Line every time I spoke to them kept saying, "don't stress, we'll fix it," until they came back with "too bad, sorry." I had to pay for the full 800cu ft. At no point were they on my side, and no one would take accountability for telling me lies.

Lied about everything I was forced to file fraudulent charges through my bank to get my money back they are not worth the effort. If the offered to move me for free I would rather make 16 trips across country with my personal vehicle then use them that is how bad my experience was with them. STAY AWAY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
