Here is their scam or "business model." They are a broker, not a mover. They quote you a low price, and then they call you and say "please give us a very detailed invento ... Read More Here is their scam or "business model." They are a broker, not a mover. They quote you a low price, and then they call you and say "please give us a very detailed inventory of everything." You do so. They give you a slightly higher quote and promise there will be no surprises. But then they have to sell the deal to one of their subcontracted movers so they need it sound like a good deal. In my case, they told my mover we were 50% packed (total lie), and apparently didnt tell him about a marble piece I specifically did tell them about. Mover shows up and says "there's no way I can do that for this price." Then demands A FIFTY PERCENT INCREASE. YES 50%. I called United Pro. They literally pulled out one sentence in one page of a very dense contract that essentially says "our price quote is fake; the mover gives you the final price, nothing is binding sucker." So, if you are on a schedule, your two choices are blow your schedule, or pay a 50% increase. It was the single most disappointing experience I have ever had with a professional vendor.

Read More Was in a bind over a weekend, needed some movers/drivers quickly for a smaller move, and, initially, UMP were very responsive and stated they could get job done in next day or so. I was was very happy. Sent follow up text inquiring about locking down reservation date w/a deposit (as it was odd I haven't heard back from sales POC to actually lock down the move). Suddenly, no responses. No email or text. Ghosted by a business! Disappointing experience from what initially appeared to be a reputable company.

Read More United Pro Van Line, IT"S A SCAM! They are the moving broker and NOT the actual moving company. The quote they gave us was Bait and Switch! We took pictures of all the items needed to move and told them to make sure the quote is the exact price we were willing to pay. They quoted us $1800; but when the actual mover showed and told us $3200! There is a big difference between $1800 and $3200, don't you think? Again, we took pictures of all the items, and send them both text messages and emails to ensure the price is exactly what we agreed on.. We lost $700 and they would not return our deposit. DO NOT USE THEM!! Find a real moving company and Not Brokers.

Did not know that they were a broker. They stay on the phone and push you to give them the credit card down payment. The movers showed up on the correct date, now 6 days ... Read More Did not know that they were a broker. They stay on the phone and push you to give them the credit card down payment. The movers showed up on the correct date, now 6 days later we can't get it delivered. United Pro Valines took $1500 nonpayment. Then the mover came and of course the price went way up from the quote. They took another $2000, plus the movers extorted a huge tip from me. After 11 days 1/2 the shipment showed up. The movers demanded complete payment or they wouldn't unload the truck, after driving the 7 hours. Now, I'm out $4600+ and still not done with the saga. We're at day 20 and have NO idea when the rest will arrive. Their contract says they have up to 21 business days to deliver our stuff. In fairness to United Pro Van Lines, Judith and Justin have tried very hard to get information from the moving company and keep me updated. Which is appreciated. This has been a terrible, expensive mistake.

I spoke with the Broker he quote me the price exactly there is no extra items base on pics act upon the mover came to pick up the inventories he charged me extra a thousand and demand that if I don’t pay they will not move my inventories so I did contact the broker they have not respond to me at the time. The mover just took of I am from CA I wasn’t there so next day I contact Julian the office manager lie and make a statement I canceled how the world I would cancel it’s doesn’t make sense. They didn't refund my money I attempted to contact them they block my number. Before you contact make sure you do yourself a research. They really a scam. I wish I can download the evidence the contact.

I had a detailed list of the items with measurements that I needed moved which was approximately one room full of things. The largest thing I had was a 5.5-foot love seat and they had a detailed list of everything I had to move. I called United Pro Van Lines and they said this would be perfect because they had a moving truck going to Oregon and it had some room left for my things. I sent them my list of items and did not add more things than what I talked to them about. The first man that I talked with said that I could add 35 more boxes and pay the price we agreed on. I was encouraged to bring more but I didn’t have anything more. I told him how I was packaging things and he said it was fine. I thought this sounded great because I didn’t have any more items so I signed the contract. I received a call a few days ahead of the move and I told them my list was the same except that I might add a small bench. He said that unless I surprise them with a grand piano, the price would not change. They sent a Ryder truck to pick up my things a couple days late and when he walked into the house, he immediately said, “No way, they misquoted you” I was called in Oregon and he kept telling me that he understood that I signed a contract but I was misquoted. He said that I had bulky items and that I needed to use his boxes and crates. He demanded that I sign a new contract and pay him $3152 in cash.” I was so shocked and he was angry and rude when I told him that I did not have $3152 in cash to give him.” He told my sister that she would have to give him the cash and sign. When she said that she didn’t have cash, he became very rude, threw boxes and slammed the truck doors. The passenger in the Ryder truck told my sister that this happens all day long and that they have angry customers every day. I did tell him to leave because this felt so wrong and went against everything they had previously told me. After he left, I called customer service and was so upset and asked if this is right and she said no that this isn’t right. She tried to call the dispatchers and said they didn’t answer and so she would send the recorded call to the people above her. She told me to send them an email with the details. So, I did that and waited for them to get back to me. I was sent an email and was told that I signed a contract saying that I would not get a refund if I refused service and that I had bulky items. When I asked if she read my email, it was obvious that it didn’t matter. She said that it was all hearsay and that I should have called customer service while the driver was there but I was in Oregon and couldn’t leave a rude, angry man alone with my sister so I waited until he left. My mom’s things are still in Michigan in my sister’s basement. This happened at a time when I was grieving my mom’s death and feeling so anxious. I hope that I can help others so they will not get into this awful situation.
