Read More Don’t use this company. United Trust Van Lines is simply a brokerage company which outsources jobs to other moving companies who actually handle the move. Whilst the moving company which ultimately handled our move (Big Shoulders Moving & Storage) did a great job, United Trust Van Lines did not. Their strategy is to intentionally under quote the job. We gave them a detailed list of the items to be moved for a 2bd unit. We agreed a price for the interstate move and paid our deposit. Our deposit was 30% of the move cost which is way above industry standard (10%). On moving day, the quote for the exact same items was changed to double the initial quote. We were told that we’d lose our deposit if we did not proceed with the move. When you call or email to complain, they will simply ghost you and hope that you go away. This is misleading and deceptive conduct.

Read More To me, having United Trust Van Lines assistance was a total disappointment. These low lives had no idea what that artwork and gym equipment meant to me. They used that cheesy packaging stuff which damaged my valuables. And the worst part was they were unapologetic for their actions.

Read More United Trust Van Lines claimed there was no more space in the truck while leaving a few items behind (printer, air purifier, and a few tiny cartons), even though there was undoubtedly more than enough space. A small desk was also broken during the move, and the movers clearly knew about it because they brought the desk in two parts even though it was in perfect condition when it left my prior home. No explanation or apology!

Read More I chose this company b/c of good review ratings and based out of Texas but was so disappointed that I have to share this terrible experience. I was told I would get 20% off my entire move and did my best to "totally guess" how many boxes and things we would have. Who knows how many boxes they will end up with weeks before a move that you have to get a moving company booked by in order to find availability for the date you need?????? When the day came and boxes were counted my quote over doubled in price. Then was told I wouldn't get 20% off the extra, just the original quote. The guys that came to load our stuff did a good job of packing stuff but disassembled a ton of our things and went a bit overboard on charging us for boxes for this and that they claimed couldn't be loaded on a truck like they were. Then left our stuff somewhere out in the TX heat for 2 weeks so all that tape melted pretty much and has been a nightmare to get off of everything. We literally didn't hear a word from them for 2 weeks. Kept trying to find out when they would be to California with our stuff. Finally heard it would be sometime between Monday and Wed over 2 weeks after they loaded our stuff. Which btw was all loaded in a box truck. Then they tried to charge me $1900 for shuttle service that clearly stated $1100 on contract. Also charged me extra for for interior stairs that the contract stated were included. They let us know Friday night that our stuff would be there Sunday now instead of M-W. I was out of town and had to fly home early and we had to mess with getting a cashiers check over the weekend when our bank was closed. Different guys unloaded all of our stuff and didn't put ANY of the things the other guys disassembled back together. When I attempted to show them what the contract I signed with United Trust Van Lines clearly showed, they just refused to adjust the charges- this was some subbed out company United Trust Van just hires out btw. Because the guys at my house had bosses that had nothing to do with United Trust Van Lines. When I said I refused to pay all the extra charges the jerk in charge of the guys at my house berated me on the phone and then his guys just started throwing things and said they were just going to throw the rest of the truck in garage. It was all just unreal. I paid $15k and didn't even move a house full of furniture. We had one bed and one cabinet and the rest were boxes. All the boxes were destroyed and crushed. About 8 pieces of my wife's great grandmother's china was all broken and it was all ind. bubble wrapped and clearly marked FRAGILE. Fragile boxes were put into rooms upside down. It was a TERRIBLE experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone. Literally think it's a guy that sits in his room and subs all the work out to any yahoo that will take it. Guess others just got lucky with a decent company United Trust Van Lines (which btw is trying to play off the huge national brand of United Moving Vans) subbed out.
