And the last moving company I hired was worthless, but I found White Gloves Moving LLC listed on a moving awards website and called them. They were being awarded for great service. After using them I see why this is a great company. Kevin came to my home and gave me a firm price. They were on time at pick-up and delivery and did not have extra charges. Everything was included. At the delivery end, they even moved an old frig out to put my new one in - no extra charge. I tipped them well. Next time I move, I will call them again.

From the upfront pricing to the careful handling of my antique mirror (sentimental value, not monetary), everything was perfect. The crew leader even texted me photos of my furniture wrapped up before loading so I could see how protected it was. That attention to detail is everything. Highly, highly recommend.

Read More Do Not Hire White Gloves Moving LLC Our experience with White Gloves Moving LLC was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. The company significantly underestimated the cost of our move, repeatedly failed to honor its delivery promises, provided poor communication, and ultimately delivered our daughter's belongings 16 days after pickup instead of within the promised timeframe. We hired White Gloves Moving LLC to move our daughter's belongings from Walnut Creek to Los Angeles—a relatively small move consisting of one bed, two nightstands, one TV and stand, a small glass table, four boxes, and a few miscellaneous items. During the booking process, Darrin, our sales representative, quoted the move at approximately $1,800 and assured us the delivery would likely occur the day after pickup since the move was less than 500 miles. Even if it wasn't the next day, both Darrin and the pickup driver, Alex, stated delivery would be within five business days. Unfortunately, neither the quoted price nor the delivery timeline turned out to be accurate. When Alex arrived to load the truck, the price immediately began increasing. We were charged additional fees for stairs (beyond the first seven steps), the walking distance from the truck to the apartment, moving blankets, wrapping furniture, and multiple rolls of tape used to secure the blankets. While some of these charges may have been buried in the contract, they were never explained during the estimate. By the end of the move, our original $1,800 quote had grown to more than $3,300. The delivery process was even more frustrating. Based on the company's repeated assurances, we drove from the Bay Area to Los Angeles the following day expecting our daughter's furniture to arrive shortly afterward. We were told someone would call that evening or the next day with delivery details. No one ever called. The next day passed with no update. Then another. Our repeated calls to the office either went unanswered or were not returned. Before flying home, we spoke with Bruce, who handles deliveries, but he could not provide a delivery date. Darrin simply told us delivery would happen "soon." Because all of our daughter's furniture, including her bed, was on the moving truck, we had to purchase an air mattress so she would have somewhere to sleep while waiting. As the days passed, we continued calling for updates. Each conversation brought a different explanation. We were told the shipment was in Sacramento, then that it was being loaded for delivery, then that it would arrive by the weekend, then later the following week. Every promised delivery date came and went without a phone call or explanation. Bruce repeatedly insisted the company was operating within a 21-day delivery window, despite this being an intrastate California move, not an interstate shipment. After we finally received a copy of the Bill of Lading—which we should have received on pickup day—we confirmed it clearly stated delivery within five business days, and Alex had even handwritten "No later than June 30." As communication deteriorated, our calls often appeared to be ignored. If we called from a phone number Bruce recognized, he frequently wouldn't answer. If we called from a different number, he answered almost immediately. That only added to our frustration. We repeatedly requested to speak with a manager. No manager ever returned our calls. We asked to speak with dispatch and were told dispatch does not communicate with customers. Finally, on July 3, fifteen days after pickup, we received a call from someone we had never spoken with before saying the delivery would occur on July 4. When the movers arrived, they charged our daughter additional fees for stairs and walking distance—even though Bruce had previously assured us no additional delivery charges would be assessed because, in his words, "that's bad business." Our biggest disappointment wasn't simply that the move took 16 days instead of five. Delays can happen in any business. The problem was the complete lack of honesty and communication. Had the company simply told us upfront that they were experiencing delays or were short on drivers, we could have planned accordingly. Instead, we were repeatedly led to believe delivery was imminent, causing unnecessary stress, additional expenses, and significant inconvenience. This was a simple move of less than 500 miles that should have been routine. Instead, it became weeks of unanswered calls, broken promises, constantly changing stories, and a final bill that was nearly double the original estimate. Before hiring White Gloves Moving LLC, I strongly encourage you to read their recent reviews. Our experience appears to reflect a noticeable decline in service, communication, and reliability. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. If you value accurate estimates, honest communication, and dependable delivery, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Everything was moved carefully and professionally; they were very gentle with our furniture and belongings while still working fast and efficiently. We also had an issue with the elevator and the building, and the owner personally came out and took care of it. Excellent service, great communication, and a team you can truly rely on.
