The bottom line is I would never use this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone ever! If you don’t have time to read the whole review, please take my first sentence to heart and look elsewhere for assistance with your move.Unfortunately, I did not do my due diligence, so I booked Safeway for a move from Upstate New York to the San Antonio Texas area. I was quoted $12,673.00 to basically move one bedroom, dining room, two living rooms, large desk, two 3D printers and a garage full of tools, lawncare equipment and a motorcycle. That quote turned into a cost of $17,202.62 not including the additional cost due to my house having stairs. As the movers were finishing loading the truck one came to me and asked about their “Tip”! Yes, they asked for a trip, I was dumbfounded. I ended up giving each of the six people involved in the move $50 by check. After the truck departed, I noticed items that should have been packed on the truck in a basement closet and other items in the garage under a work bench.I was told my items would be transported to Texas as I was waiting for the date I could move into the new house in Texas. A couple of weeks later I called to make arrangements for delivery and provided my availability dates for delivery. I was still living in New York and planned to drive to Texas for the delivery then return to New York for a few weeks. When I arrived in Texas, I called to reconfirm my delivery dates. The dates were confirmed, and I was told I would receive a phone call one day prior to delivery by the driver. When I did not receive a phone call, I called again and was told my shipment in was New Jersey. I was informed my balance would have to be paid in cash, money order or Zelle or my furniture would not be delivered. I paid the balance by wire transfer and still had to extend my stay at a hotel in Texas because my shipment arrived four days after my delivery window with two people to unload the truck and reassemble items. The truck was unloaded however many items that Safeway packed were not unpacked. Items that were unpacked and assembled were placed where I wanted them however all the packing materials, cardboard, tape, and plastic was not discarded by Safeway, it was all left for me to discard. Prior to leaving the driver asked about their “Tip”. I was told 20% of the cost was customary. I looked at him and stated, “That was not happening!”. I gave them $100.00 each.I worked for the Government for more than 30 years and have moved from state to state and to Europe and I can honestly say this was the worst moving experience I have had.
