Worst experience ever. Tried to avoid the stress of moving from California to Washington by having a company help with the transport of our belongings. We started strong with this company, but then everything went downhill. Moving Direct Van Lines is a middle man. They claim to only use reputable movers, but MMG Movers (the actual moving company) was a pure nightmare. They have a calculated approach to gouge you with exorbitant increases in fees by claiming that you have more cubic feet than what they have listed. These companies bully you with "you have a contract, and you'll lose your deposit." Our deposit was over 3K. Moving Direct offered zero support other than to change to a new carrier.
