Read More I’m a recent college grad moving from Tennessee to Washington for work, and reached out to Noble Moving and Storage for a quote. Things started off fantastic, with reps who were very kind and professional. Until I was handed over to Michael, who went over the financials with me. He claimed I was in luck: A moving truck just happened to be headed along the route I needed, at the specific time I was moving, and that I could lock in a special limited-time deal which would dropping the usual ~$4,000 price tag down to ~$2,000. That’s when the pressure started. The moment I asked for a little time to think — even just an hour — Michael launched into a frantic sales pitch, emphasizing how I would be "an idiot" to not act right away, how nobody else out there could get me a deal this low, and how it's the busiest moving season. I repeatedly emphasized that I would like time to think about it and discuss the logistics with my family, even if the deal disappeared when I came back. What rang my alarm bells was that he refused, flat out saying that if I did not sign the legally binding form for their services right then that the deal would vanish forever, no ifs ands and buts about it. No flexibility, no patience, just sign a legally binding contract now or else. When I mentioned I’d seen mixed reviews and wanted to weigh my options, he went completely off the rails, ranting about how “whiny Democrats” on various platforms were review-bombing them. Not only was that wildly unprofessional, it was just… what? Political rants as a customer service strategy? Needless to say, I didn’t sign. As someone young, on a tight budget, and trying to make a responsible decision, the way that Michael dealt with the situation was bizarre and unprofessional. Even if the deal had disappeared in an hour, I would’ve accepted that risk. But the pressure and attitude were completely inappropriate. And shockingly, taking time to think didn’t ruin my life! I found a better option for the same price that much better suited my personal needs, with complete peace of mind that I'd made an informed decision and none of the high-stakes sale tactics. In an industry that serves people making big life changes, treating potential customers with respect shouldn’t be too much to ask. If your business relies on high-pressure sales and political name-calling, maybe it’s time to reevaluate your approach.

Even if I had refused, I would have been out over a thousand dollars of a non-refundable deposit. My things went to the warehouse for storage and when they delivered to me tables were broken, boxes crushed, 10(!) Boxes missing. All over one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company I have worked with
