Read More I hired Adams van lines to move all our belongings from NYC to San Jose. They were simply awesome. My family and I are no strangers to the stresses of relocation but they made it easier. They don’t charge ridiculous amounts which is always a great starting point. The crew of 4 men worked tirelessly in my house for 4 hours and packed everything carefully. I was very impressed by their efficiency level. We received the delivery right on the scheduled date in San Jose. This was the easiest and most successful relocation of my life.

Read More Worst company- They do not tell you everything over the phone- They provide wrong information and promise there will be no hidden fees and you have free insurance included up to 1000. The truth is they charge you more after a week on a phone call, saying the initial list of belongings should be exact OR it will cost you more on the day of the move, they charge you for a sudden switch of trucks that you have to pay and during the transfer they damaged many items including Two TV's worth of 1000. They never assembled- I had to bring someone else to do it and pay for it. Upon complaint, they responded that they were only the BROKERS and the Movers were another company. They offered 0.60 cents for every pound of damage (144 $ for everything). Back-and-forth complaints with BBB resulted in repeating responses- They are just the BROKERS a fact that was NEVER revealed during the initial communication. JUST DON'T : Please save yourself what others and I went through.

Read More Considering the great quality of service I received, I was shocked by how affordable this company's moving services were. My Adams Van Lines delivered all of my furniture, from bean bags to a Knoll sofa, without a single hiccup. If you need a trustworthy moving company, go no further than this one.

Read More These folks will sell your load not once but many times over. I was promised they would move us from GA to TX. they delivered a week late and then only 1/2 of the load, then another load 3 weeks later and then the last at 10 pm on a Sunday 2 weeks after that. Tons of items missing, broken furniture, glass and destroyed boxes. They sold it to a company called Keep It Moving whom sold it to 3 different companies after that. No one calls back once they sell you and you have to pay before they will unload the first box because they know it's going to be a mess. I have moved over 8 times in the last 30 years and never been through anything like this before. The customer service is great until they collect and then they will not answer your calls. The manager, Justin will promise you the world and then disappear as will Chad the rep that sold me on his honestly! I was a fool to believe a word from these folks. DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS! I paid over $10K and so far it has cost me $2100 in repairs. I received my claim, they offered me $77! BEWARE!

Read More I used this company for a residential household move from Illinois to Virginia. The service was undoubtedly awful from beginning to end. It is already challenging dealing with movers because so much it out of your own control - but TRUST is a key factor. You have to have the feeling that movers will be efficient and take care of your residence and furniture items. Part 1) an ‘administrative call’ is conducted where they are to gain an understanding of ‘inventory’. During this call I had two concerns. I mentioned that I had an elliptical to be moved. They assured me they do this often and it would be no problem. Next I told them that most of my furniture had a glass component to it. I would handle packing all boxes, but I would not touch the furniture. They were to arrive with all material to pack and load. I was assured they would. They never visited to view my items, or even asked for any photos - which I have. In hindsight, that should have been a red flag. Part 2) the arrival estimate for my pickup day was to be a Tuesday between 8a and 12p. They arrived at 12:05p - late. They came in the door looking at my furniture and already sharing that they would be charging me more money - $500. They charged extra for the use of bubble wrap for my glass furniture items. Cardboard reinforcement was used - my unused boxes that I happened to have in the garage. They greatly damaged a door frame trying to remove a sofa. I was asked for a tip - because they successfully removed my elliptical - which they stated was very heavy. Part 3) my delivery day was scheduled for a Saturday morning. On Friday, the driver called to tell me it would cost me an additional $500. This is because my neighborhood will not handle a 15 foot delivery vehicle so the driver has to transfer my things to a smaller Uhaul truck to be able to get into my neighborhood. This would have been a simple conversation to resolve during the initial administrative discussion. At 1pm on Saturday, the driver told me he was alone and needed to find help to deliver my things. At that stage. He ended up coming to my house alone after finding someone who agreed to help. When he arrived he said - ‘I hope he’s not a scammer’!! This company is unprofessional and ineffective. They use ‘Adams’ as an umbrella name for a conglomeration of companies that don’t communicate with one another. (they will sell your contract to others). It is impossible to get anyone on the phone when you call. When they are ready to share key details with you, several phone calls are received with slightly different details provided in each call. The entire process left me ‘off kilter’ with moods ranging from disgusted to ‘full-out’ furious. I’m just happy that they are out of my life forever.

This company was a pain to work with. They are not movers. They contract out your move to the lowest bidder. The price they quoted was Half of what we ended up paying. Th ... Read More This company was a pain to work with. They are not movers. They contract out your move to the lowest bidder. The price they quoted was Half of what we ended up paying. They refuse to repair or replace the thousands of dollars worth of lost and broken items. We would have been financially better off donating every single one of our belongings rather than paying for them to move our things. It has been 5 months since our move with them, and they take 3+ months to reply. They will not assume any responsibility, despite our contract. It was/is so bad that we are talking to lawyers now. Please, please, please do not waste your time or money with this terrible company.

Read More A majority of the 5 star reviews here are from people who have given 1 lifetime review (these are likely hired fake accounts/ reviewers). We hired them to move from Ohio to California. Verbally they told us everything would arrive in 21 days. We kept calling and they would never answer, until we called from a different number and then they would answer instantly. They later said it would arrive after 21 business days. Our stuff arrived after 44 days (30 business days). They broke the TV (huge vertical line and crack at bottom right of the screen),and a majority of our wood has lines/ marks that cant be removed after deep cleaning. They add a bunch of extra charges that you have to read-through in the small print of the contract. 1 star for honesty/ transparency1 star for timeliness1 star for damaging the goods. I would not recommend these movers to anyone.
