Move Date: Aug 08,2024Upon review of your file it does seem that some things mentioned are incorrect.
1. Our customer service was very attentive along with our quality assurance department to fix the packing issue that occurred. Lincoln offered to cover the packing charges but very clearly explained that if the space increased on site that there would be additional fees. You agreed prior to the crew arriving on site.
2. The day of the move the carrier did a revised written estimate on site explaining the additional charges. You disputed and Lincoln offered to cover half of the additional charges. You refused to accept. Later Lincoln found out that Fairway TOOK THE EXTRA ITEMS FOR FREE! So, you were not charged additional at all.
3. The estimate you signed with Lincoln, along with the paperwork you signed on site clearly said that the acceptable payment methods for pick up are cashiers check, postal money order or cash. The carrier made an exception and agreed to accept a credit card from you and picked your items up on your promise to pay them with the credit card with their billing office. When they called to collect the payment you refused to pay due to the 8% credit card fee (that is because the carrier doesn't typically accept credit cards, as stated in all the paperwork you signed and agreed to, so their rates are much higher when they DO process. After calling the customer service representative at Fairway a few choice words the manager made the decision to no longer accept a credit card from you and require cash on delivery (PER THE INTERSTATE BILL OF LADING).
Your items aren't being held hostage, you as the client did not stick to the signed agreement and make the payment of 50% of your remaining balance prior to delivery. The carrier will process the delivery once the payment is made. They are not demanding any additional money from you on top of the original estimate that was signed and agreed to with Lincoln. Fairway actually gave you additional services FOR FREE!
Even if Lincoln and Fairway had given you the move completely for free and you still would have found something to leave a negative review about.
