Read More I would give 0 stars if I could. United is a broker who hired Fairway Moving and Storage out of Englewood, NJ, to move our things cross country. They originally quoted us about $1,500 but later changed it to over double that. We were told certain things not in boxes would be okay, but Fairway decided it needed to be all boxed and did a horrible job. They tried to charge us for every box.The movers were very unprofessional. They showed up at 8 pm 3 days later than the original scheduled pick up. And when most of our stuff was loaded they claimed it took up more space on the truck than we had paid for and tried to charge us another $600.It took a month for us to get our things after it was picked up. I’m pretty sure they lied about where it was being stored based on comments from the delivery driver. They only sent one guy to deliver!A bunch of stuff was damaged and broken. We had to pay over $250 for bike repairs because they messed them up so bad. Our TV and a computer monitor were conveniently missing. I also found someone else’s TV remote and parts to someone else’s vacuum in one of my totes. I put in the claim with Fairway weeks ago and still haven’t heard from them.United acts like they can’t do anything to help.

Read More I’m a widowed single mom on one income who rented a UHaul trailer to move from CO to RI and realized the day of the move, my items wouldn’t all fit in the trailer. I wasn’t bringing any furniture and there was only a tiny amount of stuff, but they were essentials. In a panic, I looked for same-day last minute movers. The following unfolded:I was sold something that was a huge misrepresentation by United Express, who called me after I started Google searching. They never told me they were brokers. The rep kept talking about "their drivers."Andrew specifically verbalized things to me that were apparently not in the contract I ended up signing. The only reason I signed with them is because they told me my items would be at my house, "500 miles a day, four days." I knew it would take me four days to drive my trailer from CO to RI, so this was perfect. I have not used movers before, so I am naive to the expectation. Additionally, I was told they had to charge me for the amount of a "studio apartment," as it is the "minimum they can charge,” even though I only had about 15 medium boxes and one sofa table. So, I agreed to $1,500 for that.Being that I am an honorable person who has owned a small business and never misrepresented my own business, I breezed over the contract they sent and signed it in a panic, so I could get same-day service and specifically so my stuff could get to my new home when I did. It included all of my bathroom toiletries and most of my kids’ clothes, as these were the last items packed, since we were using them until our move. That was foolish of me.Since they are brokers, when the actual moving company showed up to move my stuff, it turned out to be even more expensive than the amount I agreed to, and which as a single mom, I was already struggling with.The contract from United Express was written in a small amount of cubic feet and then says, in parentheses next to cubic feet, 2002 lbs of stuff. Apparently, my 15 boxes and sofa table (which is about three feet long and 8 inches wide), was over the cubic feet, so I ended up paying an additional $400 to the actual moving company. It’s been a week and my stuff is arriving today, not in the four days. I feel blessed it’s even getting here this fast, because apparently four days WAS A LIE and movers can take up to 21 days for a 2,000 mi trip like we made.I called United Express yesterday and spoke to Elisa G, because I am disgusted with their business and I want the $600 they charged me to apparently just lie to me and call another moving company, back. I told her I feel scammed. She told me I was over my cubic feet and I won’t be getting my money back, since I signed the contract. I mentioned the 2,002 lbs in parentheses and she said the weight means nothing.I told her what Andrew represented to me and she told me I was lying and a rep would never make those kinds of promises. When I said I would have one of the many attorneys I know pull records, since all calls are recorded, I was told, "Well actually, verbal contracts don't count."So, yeah. Don’t use this company. I’m debating how much of a pain I want to be to get my $600 back. I’m sure it will cost me more in the long run to push for it, but I’m so upset, kinda feels worth it.

IFIND IT SOOOOOOOO HARD TO BELIEVE ALL THESE PEOPLE HAD THE AUDACTITY TO GIVE THEIR FIRST REVIEWS EVERY AND AT THAT GOOD REVIEWS FOR THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY.THEY HAVE 41 REVIEWS OF THEIR 300 IN THE LAST 48 HOURS THERE NEEDS TO BE A REVIEW OF THIS COMPANY ASAPIt is unfortunate they pay randoms and who knows who to leave false reviews because the fact theres been 20 reviews just today of 5 stars with people who dont have full names and theres not a chance this many people woke up on a friday and were like im leaving a 5 star review for this horrible company before 1PM is insanely suspicious but if i were a terrible company and didnt care about people i would do the same thing.Ryan williams is up for scam artist of the year, he needs to edit his measurements and quotes as he quoted a 2 bed house for myself and then it was doubled when the moving company showed up while also having to leave plenty things behind from our quote. The best part is they outsource the move so they dont have any liability for it.I have 2 broken nightstand, 2 missing boxes, a broken bed frame, and SOMEONE ELSES BED FRAME. HOW DO I HAVE SOMEONE ELSES BED FRAME!? Not only have i called complained asked for assistance and asked for them to figure out whos bed i have, they dont care enough to try and find the oringinal owners bed frame that is not in my possesion. They expect me to store it for 3 months while they figure out their mistakes so sadly i will be tossing these bed frame pieces out and sadly the person who is missing these....they wont do anythign to help you out.do yourself a favor and never contact this company you will regret every single thing you get put through over the next move and i truly dont wish this upon my worst enemy.This company needs a major change in ethics or needs to be shut down.

Read More What promised to be a seamless experience proved to be a unimaginable disaster. There was pressure to place a deposit without a firm travel date .Once a date was determined a window of 48 to 72 hours needs to be kept clearly any activity such as airline reservations could not be made .Final time was established the day before actual pickup. What was never mentioned was this was brokered by another mover .Once mover showed up the price increased from $900 to $5400 and cash was demanded .Everything required new company boxes additional pricing. It was assumed all items were to be move to owners destination however all items were instead sent to a warehouse to be move at a undetermined date (never explained) Despite several call to company a time for delivery could not be determined One week later a call stated movers were to be delivered the next day and would require $500.00 cash to be delivered or items would be left in storage at customers expense. Meanwhile no one from united was available for guidance .The move was handled by Fairway moves out of Englewood New Jersey please read their reviews Res Ipsa loquitor. The driver was extremely rude and required police presence to insure a peaceful delivery If you value your money and sanity please heed my warning

Proceed with this company at own risk. I’m a disabled veteran. I don’t make very much money but when I put in my number for some Moving quotes, this company called me ... Read More Proceed with this company at own risk. I’m a disabled veteran. I don’t make very much money but when I put in my number for some Moving quotes, this company called me. I had already arranged for a U-Haul because I didn’t think I could afford movers the gentleman on the phone was very friendly and promised me the world, I gave him a very accurate description of what I had and he quoted me a little over 2000 somebody called me the day before I was scheduled to move and quoted me about 2000 more dollars after I had told him I should probably cancel because I can’t afford this! and if it costs more when the movers show up I will have to cancel. the first person on the phone told me I could get my money back because they wouldn’t want a bad Review. Moving day movers showed up said it would cost $10,000! That the broker company did not include the packing of the mirrors, the televisions and other items which were clearly in the quoted sheet! The price for just the stuff they quoted me probably would’ve been around $7000 plus an extra three for extra stuff and they would not be able to move the trailer that I was also told would be moved. When I called, I could not get a hold of anyone because it was Sunday. I had to cancel and of course I called Monday morning to get my money back to hear them say very rudely that I was SOL. Proceed with this company very carefully. I’m so disappointed that I’m literally in contact with the news agency who will probably pick up the story! You guys messed up! I really hope that 2100$ was worth it to you! Because it meant a lot to me and your employees knew it because I expressed it the entire time.

The majority of the five star reviews of this company are all first time reviewers. Please look at the reviews closely as all the local guides give them a one. I hope they sleep at night. Interesting how they respond, again make sure to read the reviews carefully others have had the same experience. And yes I am not the person that hired them, but certainly am aware of how he was treated and bounced around with no real customer service. And again they are not telling the truth, they did not dispatch anyone as he called multiple times well before the 72 hours. What comes around goes around, so I hope they enjoy keeping young people's deposits. Again, just read the reviews closely and carefully. If I could give zero I would.

Ryan called me 2 days before the move date and demanded a big cost increase because "it's the busy moving season". What a joke. The guys delivering our stuff were not even professional movers just truck drivers. They stacked boxes marked fragile glass upside down. We had massive damage including legs broken off furniture and smashed glass. The damage claim process is a complete waste of time designed to frustrate you to the point where you give up. After hours of paperwork I got an email saying they are proud to send us $72 for our compensation. STAY AWAY FROM UNITED EXPRESS MOVING!!!

After being handed off to the actual moving company, discovered that this broker has not say as to when my stuff is delivered. Also their quote to me was not even close to what I was going to be charged. Upon giving this company my inventory, I was told I would only need X amount of cubic square footage. After speaking to the moving company, they told me I would need an additional 200 cubic square feet costing over $1,000 more. Ended up having to sell a lot of my big pieces of furniture.
