Read More Menards Moving & Storage is not a moving company, instead a "broker" who sells your business to any freight carrier that is headed in the right direction of where you want your belongings to be. The actual movers they send to your home are rude, claim total ignorance of any information discussed, arranged or paid directly to Menards including changing original estimate and increasing it by more than 10%. Additionally, they do not provide customers with "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move", a booklet required by Federal Regulations to supply. I was quoted a significantly lower amount by Menards, then when the actual movers, United States Moving System, Inc. arrived I was told there was not enough room on the truck for my belongings which I had already paid extra for to ensure there would be adequate space and told if this space wasn't used it would be applied to remaining balance. The movers from United were rude and disrespectful, spending hours going back and forth re-writing my written estimate in my driveway while I was crying as the price continued to increase as the magically found more room when I gave them more money. My ill feeling about the company continued as I tried following up with them and could not get in contact with anyone or received ridiculous answers on the phone. After my belongings were MIA for several weeks I was able to track them down with my air tag in my luggage and have the local police visit the warehouse. My belongings which they told me that weren't going to be delivered for several more days or weeks suddenly started moving across country very fast. When they arrived the driver demanded cash, cashiers check or Zelle payment (to a personal account) before even opening the door to the truck. I refused and told him I that they would not receive payment until I saw my belongings. I had to call the local PD to report them for holding my belongings hostage and the police remained on-site until everything that was left was unloaded due to the aggressive nature of the driver. When I tried to pay them they refused to take Venmo (which is designated for businesses) and threatened to charge me $200.00 for each half hour they did not get paid, despite a "trial" payment successfully going through to the company the day before. I'm currently working with my insurance company as nearly every item they touched was damaged or missing including family antiques and heirlooms that have been in my family for generations. Please save yourself the headache and heartache - find a reputable moving company NOT this one.

This company is grossly negligent. We disputed a transaction when they sold our moving job to another company that had our belongings for much longer than they said it would take to have them delivered. After speaking with the owner about reversing the dispute, he insisted that I had to pay him immediately or he would cancel our move. As soon as our belongings were delivered, he took both charges. Effectively, stealing the initial charge we had placed the dispute on. We bought the job from an employee who was since fired for lying and underestimating jobs, and misrepresenting Menards as a mover, when they are a broker. When the owner told us he had been fired, he also declined to do anything about the impact on us. We are pursuing legal action.

No respect for my property.We have not even started, and it is bad. $993.00 down payment, and nobody shows up. They even changed me an extra $300 to start on the 25th as opposed to the 26th to accommodate for their days of travel per DOT. Monday - the only day available for delivery due to Dr appointments, and they knew that before signing. He said they could do it.NOBODY showed up on the 25th. I called Rich White, & I texted him (no reply). I called customer service, and I had no help. No refund. I don't even know if they will show up tomorrow, the 26th of July. Empty promises. I just want to get my mom's stuff to Florida. What a fiasco. I rented a U-haul, and I will do it my damn self. Well, they convinced me to take down the post until after the move. Yes, and it is as bad as can be expected. Jacob (supervisor) took my moving blankets that I had folded up in a big blue tote. I had furniture pieces missing (mattress & boxsprings, dining table bench) and 2 boxes of items all missing. Also, nothing was wrapped. therefore, all my furniture was damaged, as well as many items broken, after I paid $400.00 extra money again. Additional to the $300.00. As soon as the guy got out of the truck, he said it would be $1500.00 more on top of the $4700.00. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. AND FOR SURE NOT A GUY NAMED JACOB. The 2nd guy was good.Jacob just swiped everything off into heeps on the floor. Including an antique clock. Tore the door off my grandfather clock. Broke a chunk of wood off the grandmother clock. The owner of the company called the other day and said we will turn it in on the insurance but now that it is over he won't advise me how to do the insurance claim to get my stuff fixed. I HAVE TO WONDER IF THE SALESMAN IS DISGRUNTLED. HE SET ALL OF US UP. He is a representative of the company, and if the company is ok with his behavior, then he/they are crooks just like the other moving companies. IF I did not have RA Arthritus, I would have packed everything myself, I had people (family) to load it. I just could not wrap any more items.Jacob - the foreman - stole a hand made dinet bench, brand new box spring and mattress set, a big blue tote full of folded moving blankets, which I needed for the furniture he was supposed to take and DIDN'T so I had to. He also stole my laundry soap, 3 pack Lysol spray, All this is after demanding I pay him $1500.00 more to pack. This is the EXACT service I hired them to do. I have RA and am unable to pack a 3rd time/trip due to the R Arthritis and swollen hands.Almost $5000.00 to have my stuff broken, damaged,and stolen. I paid for a direct delivery. The furniture items were either stolen or they are grossly incompetent. How do you lose ssomeone'stuff. I have cameras that caught him stealing the personal items that were nowhere near anything he was loading. He - Jacob is a thief. I have talked to an attorney about reporting the company to DOT for fraud and theft. I will meet with him next week. Also, the brokerage/salesman that contracted the move lied as well (RICH WHITE). He said they would pack everything. They were supposed to be professional packers/movers. That is not what I got for my nearly $5000.00. Everyone needs to report this behavior. I will spend my last dime helping this outfit (thieves). Like a divorce and a bankruptcy, only longer than 7 years. Oh, did I mention I have pictures and security cameras throughout the house? Yes, I do. All of it is recorded. I hope and pray that at least the next 15 years is PURE HELL for dispatch lady and Jacob. These items are very sentimental to me (my mother's things), and now it's all broken and damaged.DON'T USE THIS MICKEY MOUSE COMPANY. Thieves & liars. Nothing good will come of it.

I called the company and even named each items and on top of that I myself added another 100cubic feet just to be flexible. Then later on when they actually came to pick up my stuff then they decided to increase the double of price from original price. They know that you’re out of time and just taking advantage of your situation! Save your time and energy find other company. Also to this day the company haven’t reach out to me despite called numerous time. They just don’t pick up at all or hang up the phone right way.

When the movers arrived (a day and a half late) they said our things were “way too big” and that they would be charging us double what Menards quoted. They were incredibly rude, screamed at each other and raised their voices at me and my fiancée several times. When we called Menards for an explanation they said “Oh yea this happens all the time”. Then change the way you do things! I will never be using this company again.
