Nothing was harmed during transport since they handled our delicate glassware carefully.

Read More Spellbound because the services at this company are just too unbelievable to be real. I had some really heavy furniture and where I lived, the stairs were narrow. I was a bit apprehensive about if it would be moved safely but the competent movers just took my breath away with how they maneuvered the daunting task. I will only hire them if I ever need to move again in the future!

Prepare for a Bait and Switch. They gave my elderly mother an binding contract for $4800, and we proceed to pack all the boxes ourselves. A few days before the move someone callex to go over everything room-by-room, then the price went up to $5800. When the movers arrived they said it would be additional $1200 in packing supplies, once her stuff was on the truck they told her that the new total was now $8400.

They lied to me several times when I wanted to speak to a manager. I canceled 8 days prior to our move. They said the 8th day didn't count as a whole day since I was calling in the afternoon. My husband and I are pastors and we have a huge move ahead of us and we didn't need this financial stress in the middle of everything going on. I will warn everyone against this company and you should stay far away from them. It seemed a little odd to me that all the other moving company's had 1 and 2 star ratings while this one had 5 stars. I wouldn't trust these other reviews!

Read More I recently moved from Seattle to New York. Customer service was great. until delivery day. I did not receive any confirmation phone call prior as promised in contract. I received a phone call from the dispatched driver day of saying he was 30 min away. Fortunately, I was able to get someone at drop off location. I quickly called Charter Van Lines to see why I had not received a phone call and the response: relinquish responsibility for driver/dispatch communications and referred to themselves simply as "booking" company. I then was told by driver I would have to pay $350 for a shuttle service (in contract) because Charter Van Line had pre-determined that the moving truck wouldn't fit onto my "narrow" streets (I live in a suburb in Long Island) Again, I call Charter Van Line to dispute this charge as my street is a designated fire lane and there are tons of delivery trucks to 7/11 on the corner. This is when I was treated poorly, hung up on several times and told I would need to pay fee or my items would be put in storage and I would be responsible for payment per day. In the end, when dealing with the drivers/movers, they agreed for no need for use of shuttle, (simply following orders) so I did not pay the fee. Charter Van Lines proved to not want to help a paying customer and took no responsibility. Clearly, not a professional company.

The lost a tool box and stole the specialty tire stem caps off my scooter. They did not put things where they belong and set up a corner cabinet upside-down.

They treated my parents with patience, carefully handling their belongings and making sure they felt at ease. Would no recommend to anyone. They are not going to move you and will broke all your stuff. BEWARE-Total SCAMMERS.

Our bedroom furniture was all purchased brand new a year ago, and the movers absolutely ruined everything. There are actual chunks taken out of our dresser. My daughters crib is cracked, scratched, and no longer can be used. All the furniture is scratched, there are large areas of missing paint on each piece. This company has been a nightmare to deal with, they told me they lost the boxes and refuse to offer and sort of insurance for the lost items. They charged an extra thousand dollars though I ended up taking LESS items that were on our initial quote. Everything about this company is shady. The sales rep I spoke to initially to book this service told me it would take up to 2 weeks max- yet my items took OVER A MONTH. They told me they can’t find the missing boxes, so all of my daughters clothes, our cameras, and other important items are just gone. This company refuses to honor the insurance policy we placed on our items through their company concerning our lost and damaged items. They also have tons of complaints that have been filed against in FL with the Better Business Bureau, and I will also be doing so. The movers were also very disrespectful and rude. They charged us for the cubic feet of ASSEMBLED items- rather than the cubic feet of the DISASSEMBLED items.
