Disappointed, Disrespected , and Ignored

Read More This company was impossible to reach over the course of 2 days when issues arose, and they handled my move with little care. The crew failed to properly pack, disassemble, or reassemble items as promised—resulting in lost, broken, and discarded pieces, including large sections of my modular sofa. Boxes were overpacked without padding, damaging items like my printer/scanner. I understand that accidents happen during moves, but all were preventable if advertised IVL services (i.e., assembly, disassembly, padding) were performed. Communication between IVL and their subcontractors was poor, causing delays and stress. The driver and crew repeatedly refused to deal with me directly, insisting on speaking only with my husband, even though I was the customer and I kept calmly referring to the terms of the contract. Despite paying upfront for four hours of unpacking, the crew refused to perform the service until the driver called IVL a day later--after multiple ignored calls and emails from me to IVL’s advertised 24/7 support. That is, an IVL rep was reachable by the driver but not reachable by me. Additionally, though I repeatedly reminded IVL stakeholders of required paperwork, the crew arrived without required documentation (i.e., weight slips) for my government move and refused to correct it that day, in part, because they overbooked jobs for the day. Even though weight slips are standard practice (we even called the weigh station ourselves to confirm and provided all requirements in writing), the driver made my husband meet him at a weigh station 30+ miles away before dawn while I was 36 weeks pregnant, adding unnecessary stress. We felt we had to appease him since we couldn’t get a hold of IVL for guidance. I do not mind hiccups with a big move if the agreement is upheld (did not happen) and the parent company, IVL, is responsive to customers and provides leadership and proper training to subcontractors (did not happen). In the end, we lost significant time, money (hotel, gas, and fees), and many of our belongings. This was our third cross-country move, and by far the worst experience—poor communication and careless handling from IVL.

Read More AWFUL EXPERIENCE - DO NOT USE My move from New York to France (Marseille area) was botched on a number of levels: - refusal to bring a container to my premises in NY (easily enough space) - repeated changes in departure dates, costing me $$$ in changes on the receiving end, then changes in delivery dates, mostly because... - CONTAINER WAS LOST for ten days, no-one could tell me where it was until I tracked it down myself - it was sitting at the port of Haifa in Israel, nowhere near the route it should have taken - several items stolen and quite a few broken (likely on container packing), and no-one at IVL cared - just shifted blame and refused to help - local agent in France (not IVL) was ok, but IVL was hopeless, incompetent. - overall stressful, unpleasant, really felt screwed over.

They were responsive, on time, tracked the whole process, polite, hard working, and charged me less at the end because they didn’t need to move as much as they originally thought. I would absolutely use IVL again and recommend them to anyone in the Florida area. THE BEST.

Read More I love that International Van Lines charges by the amount of stuff moved and not by the time. I had a perfect moving experience. The movers, Mike (crew leader), David, and Steve, were very professional and completed the job quickly. I had a very stressful home buying experience so I thank David, Mike and Steve for being the least stressful part of the experience.

Read More International Van Lines made my life 10x easier as a single mom. I was able to give my baby my undivided attention and the men were so communicative. They were very professional and kind and super aware of their surroundings making sure not to bump anything. Moving is already stressful but they took all the weight off my shoulders. Mike, David, and Rick were extremely fast and dependable!! I highly recommend working with them. and the price is very affordable :)

Read More This was the best moving experience we've ever had. Steve, Mike and David were extremely professional and friendly. They loaded and unloaded our furniture and boxes quickly and efficiently navigating difficult staircases without an issue. Everything was delivered in perfect condition and they were somehow able to avoid marking up any of our walls. To top all of that off, IVL was the least expensive option we found. We couldn't be happier with the company and, especially, the crew that our moved our belongings. We highly recommend IVL.
