Read More I contacted Mayzlin for an estimate, and at first, they seemed professional and transparent. However, when I didn't get back to the sales rep, Nicholas, immediately (I told them I would need a few days), they became pushy and rude. In trusting a company with all my valuables and possessions, professionalism is a bare minimum for me. Perhaps they really do provide quality moving service, but my experience with the rep was enough to make me wary.Edit to add: I see a few other negative reviews specifically mentioning Nicholas with regards to communication and transparency. This seems to be a recurring problem with this company.

On our first estimate phone call, I walked around the house with a tape measure and gave very specific dimensions to the rep, we also provided our new street address on a wide street with a huge driveway which they looked up on Google maps and approved. I was very particular about providing specifics because I know how moving companies can tack on fees. They gave us our estimate, we agreed. Lo and behold, on the day of pick up the fees started piling on:1) our tool box was charged a $350 bulk fee after I had already provided dimensions to the rep over the phone. We even moved it out onto the street for the movers. I’m 9 months pregnant and didn’t have the energy to fight them on it so we accepted.2) after 2 weeks of no updates we finally hear that our truck is on the way. On Sunday afternoon the driver of the truck says that he will be arriving Monday at 8am. he needs payment 24 hours before he drops off (not what is agreed upon) or else there is a “waiting fee” to avoid this waiting fee we could go get a cashiers check at the bank but of course it is Sunday afternoon at this point. He also has deemed the house unreachable due to trees he sees on Google maps, he says that we will be charged a $500 shuttle fee for them to move our items onto a smaller truck. When I called customer service, they said in the fine print it is ultimately up to driver. We didn’t have enough time to argue with corporate before the delivery because it was Sunday evening so we just had to accept it.3) drop off was insane. After spending an extra $850 at this point, the driver apparently says “this won’t fit” to many items. My husband had to help them carry and maneuver all the items because they kept saying things were “too heavy”. They broke and antique dresser and then left dresser drawers on the front lawn for my husband to carry up after they left.TLDR: They wait until they are in possession of your items to siphon money out of you and you have to cough it up because they are holding your entire life hostage. Gross people. Drivers are not at fault, they are definitely underpaid and following the predatory procedures of the company.

Read More Honestly, the only thing that saves this from being zero stars was that the pick up and delivery drivers were extremely helpful.However, the process behind the scenes was awful. Starting with the estimation and sales process, you are told that for a move of my distance (under 1000 miles) that your items will be delivered in a week. However, they do not actually know if this is the case as it is based on when trucks are available. Which I do not understand how this is possible as you'd think they have a schedule built out of when trucks are leaving for certain areas based on the sales already made.Then when arriving at my new apartment, trying to get a helpful answer from the customer service line was nearly impossible. When I did get a hold of them to ask if they had any update as it was over the week I was told my belongings would be at my apartment, they were extremely rude and unhelpful. I had a follow up question which I had to call back and ask, and I was kicked to a voicemail line which says your call will be returned within 24 hours of leaving a message. My call was never returned, and I was unable to get through to the customer service line after the first call.The final count of days living in my new apartment without any of my items outside of what I could fit in my Wrangler was over two weeks. Had there been any upfront communication on how long it would take I would have made other arrangements for the move in or had my items picked up at a later date closer to when the truck was actually available. Definitely explore other options outside of Mayzlin.

Read More Be Cautious — Understand What You're SigningAt first, I thought the negative reviews for this company must be from the odd disgruntled unlucky person. Now having used the service, I wonder if the glowing reports are the exceptions instead, if they are even genuine.We recently used Mayzlin for a cross-state-move, and had a frustrating and disappointing experience. I’m sharing this so others can avoid the same issues.First, read the fine print carefully — especially regarding insurance. We didn’t realize we had signed a clause limiting reimbursement for lost items to just $1.20 per pound per article, which resulted in a pretty big loss when several boxes of our belongings went missing. That’s all they were liable for, no matter how valuable the items were. I understand this is industry standard but think carefully about what this could mean if you lose boxes of items.Second, the initial quote we received from the salesperson did not match the final cost. The sales person was friendly, called all the time and assured me the cost was locked in. When we had the "pre-move" call, suddenly the prices went up and we were told we would need more boxes, even though the item list was the same.Third and most seriously, a good amount of our belongings never arrived. While the company accepted a portion of our claim, they rejected some claims for larger boxes, saying we should have noticed earlier — despite the chaos of a big move and nighttime delivery making that very difficult. The packing team were excellent and seemed trustworthy, so my guess is that the items got lost along the way, but who knows.When I called to explain that my boxes were missing, the representative was exceptionally unsurprised and told me they could have been dropped at the wrong house, and people rarely ever ring up to return things to others.There were scuffs on items, but I was just grateful they arrived. I wish we had done more research or gone with a company that offered full-value insurance by default and stood by their quotes.Bottom line: Triple-check the insurance coverage, document everything, and spend time checking every single box has arrived before you sign at the other end. I regret not being more cautious. Lesson learned

I don’t typically leave reviews, but my experience with Mayzlin Relocation was so disappointing and stressful, I feel obligated to warn others: please avoid this company. While my sales rep, Darren, was initially friendly, responsive and helpful during the quoting process, the finishing end move of delivery was unprofessional and deeply frustrating leaving me in tears and . While Mayzlin may be cost efficient the company will asses hidden fees to make up for their initial low estimates like long carry, stair and packing fees which they say are included in quotes.My moving lead , Darren told me Mayzlin doesn’t outsource, my movers arrived in an unmarked truck, without uniforms—which questioned if third-party labor was actually used. However, Darren claimed they had simply rented a truck due to equipment shortages and didn’t know why his crew wasn’t in uniform ( the company does indeed outsource labor). But since the moving crew did such a great job and move-out day went relatively smoothly, I proceeded to recommend Mayzlin to a colleague, ( she would weeks later call me in tears after her own disastrous experience similar to mine below ).My belongings went into their storage facilities temporarily after my move. When it was time for my out-of-state delivery, I pulled them from storage on March 28 to avoid April storage fees. I selected April 3 as my delivery date, per customer service’s instructions, and was told that the date wouldn’t affect pricing. Days later, I received a surprise invoice with April storage fees, box and packing charges (despite providing my own), and long carry fees—all of which had already been included in my original quote and signed invoice. On move-out day, the crew repacked my TV using their boxes saying they preferred using their own, despite me providing everything—and said there would be no extra charge, otherwise I would have packed it myself.I confirmed multiple times with follow up calls that no additional fees would be assessed after the move. That turned out to be false.When it came time for delivery, I was told I had to sign an “updated”, inflated invoice despite Daren doing two invoices and instate and out of state invoice . But because I changed my move to an out of state move which the move was initially ( which I had a quote from Darren for and an instate ) I was essentially forced to pay hidden fees to receive my belongings. When I pushed back and submitted both the original quotes of the instate and out of state quotes and signed invoices including the fees they were forcing me to pay, a rude customer service rep, Nadine, responded, “Quotes don’t matter.” My items had already been loaded onto the truck without my approval, and I was told if I didn’t sign, they would offload them and charge even more. Furthermore I explained their rep told me that selecting the first available date would be affected storage fees and that I called March 28th to avoid April fees but if I was being made to pay them to hold the goods in storage but they good were loaded without my approval and route . After a week of going back and forth , I caved and signed just so I could get my good and avoid any further distress.To make matters worse, the delivery timeline was vague and untrackable. Their so-called “live tracker” often went offline multiple times , and no one at customer service—including Darren—could provide accurate updates to a delivery date often times being unresponsive to emails & texts. I was left in limbo for nearly two weeks unable to plan anything with only 24 hours notice of when my goods would arrive and no specific time.Mayzlin’s promises of transparency and professionalism are empty. Please save yourself the stress and hire a company that’s honest, communicative, and respects its customers- Mayzlin is not that company.

Read More We hired Mayzlin Relocation in February and unfortunately we were very disappointed with their services. We did not feel they met the values and commitments they advertise on their website. The men who worked at our homes were not "highly trained" or professional. They did not come prepared to cover our floors and my husband had to purchase mats and cover the floor himself. The driver stated in his many years of working this job, he has never covered the floors during a move.The men asked what kind of tip they would receive and asked my cleaning lady if there were any snacks for them. They stepped on my wool rug and left red clay foot prints that I had to scrub out. They complained to my husband about having to take boxes to their appropriate rooms because they were all the way upstairs or downstairs.There was an incredible lack of attention to detail. They left the couch on its side in the middle of the room, put boxes that were clearly labeled in the wrong rooms. They did not put the beds together as we were told they would do. The furniture and boxes were left in the middle of the rooms and were stacked so poorly they fell over. I took photos for proof.Contrary to what they offer on their website, the company demanded we pay them cash and threatened that they would not unload our stuff off of the truck until they received it. We have a very large home and the company only provided 4 men to unload an entire semi truck. They had poor attitudes and demonstrated complete exhaustion before the truck was unloaded. They were also at our home beyond appropriate hours and were late for pick up and drop off. We felt we were very misled and absolutely disappointed with the service the men provided and we would not recommend their services to anyone. We believe there is a very specific reason cash is demanded and the above is evidence of that very reason.

Don't trust this company. They will damage your property, steal your valuables, overcharge you for unnecessary boxes. If you have to, document everything, don't sign ever ... Read More Don't trust this company. They will damage your property, steal your valuables, overcharge you for unnecessary boxes. If you have to, document everything, don't sign everything, take an hour or more before accepting anything and look over everything carefully. We accepted our car and found rock chips that could only be identified once all the dust was wiped off. No recourse. If they damage your property while moving, you need to mark it on your forms or you will get screwed over their insurance provider CSIPros, who will give you pennies on the dollar for the damage done by the movers. Contractors told us we have 1-2k worth of damage done by these clowns, and we have no recourse. If you have any damage to your items, they will give you pennies on the dollar. This is a nickel and dime company who upsells you at every step and cheap out on any problems they cause. Be very wary of any waivers. You've been warned.

Read More I wish I could give 0 stars. They did a full pack service and threw all my items recklessly in boxes with no care in the world. Broke my white desk, boxes are missing, missing 2 of my lamps and my art work is missing as well. Also, just turned on my 65 inch tv and it’s completely broken!!! Customer service is awful and rude as if they paid for move! This company is at that bottom of the barrel! Don’t use them at all!!

Read More Efficient pickup. Hard workers. Listened to instructions. What else can you ask for? Good job!Revised after unpacking:The lack of proper wrapping and damage to items is considerable. Illogical packing techniques (wrapping of individual forks in paper while throwing heavy items inside of unwrapped glass vases that broke, expensive picture frames wrapped next to each other inside a box with not even a piece of paper in-between to eliminate the damage of rubbing between the unprotected items, etc) too long to list. Also, turns out many didn’t actually follow directions like I thought and permanent damage occurred to many items. Appears there is a reason insurance other than by the pound is prohibitively expensive.My issues are really with the packing. Seems like they didn’t have or ran out of proper packaging materials and didn’t ask or communicate regarding that.Leaving as three stars for now as we will see how the claim process goes (if we can ever find everything in time to make the claim) and because the delivery crew worked hard and did their best, although some items that were built had to be rebuilt correctly.
