Read More Menards is a broker using several other moving companies so you don't know who you are getting until the day of the move. I was provided a binding moving estimate of $14,719 for an interstate move from California to Arizona. On the day of the move, the actual movers, United Prime Van Lines, wanted to charge me an extra $10,000. Joseph, Menards' owner, supposedly negotiated them down to an extra $5,000, which I paid. However, I wonder if it was just a scam to get another $5,000. Of the 4 people who came to move us, only 2 spoke English. The main guy was very rude. They ended up taking all of my medications which were not in a cardboard box, just a wicker basket. This was critical because my stuff was in storage for a month. On moving day, they moved all the boxes to the street, blocking my neighbor's driveway for the entire day. They were supposed to bring 2 moving vans to the site. Instead they brought one, went to their storage facility, unloaded the truck and came back to reload. This cost us a lot of time. They didn't finish until almost 10 pm. Plus they did not take everything they were supposed to. We ended up renting U-hauls and drove the rest of the stuff there ourselves. When it came time for the delivery from United's storage, the delivery was on 2 different days about a week apart and not exactly to my convenience but I rearranged my schedule because I was tired of dealing with all the problems and I just wanted my furniture. The men that came for the subsequent deliveries were much nicer and spoke English. There were several large furniture items that ended up cracked, dented or badly scratched. I would not recommend using these companies unless you enjoy aggravation.

They will, without your knowledge or permission, subcontract the work to the cheapest mover they can find - that mover may have very different terms and conditions and delivery schedule requirements than what Menards sold you.3. If there are problems with that subcontracted mover, Menards will not do anything to help - they are unwilling or unable to have any control or influence over that subcontractor.4. If there is a financial dispute, Menards will not provide any assistance - they are completely hands-off.5. If they happen to subcontract to a good mover, your move may go well - but they if subcontract to a company unable to perform the work, things will go very badly- it may take two months or more to get your delivery, if you get it at all, and it may or may not be badly damaged. And your only recourse will be to go after the subcontracted mover, who may or may not have adequate insurance.Stay away - use a real moving company.

Next to no communication despite our many efforts to get any information. I would never recommend!They take no responsibility and conveniently put it all on the people doing the actual moving. (who are also awful!)

Read More I don't know how they have 4 stars. I tried moving with this company and they brokers they use to move are awful. I have spent 3 months trying to get my $1,200 deposit canceled because the cancelled the move two days after the slot they promised to be in. When they got there, they tried to charge me an extra 2 grand saying that I didn't reserve enough space and it was going to take double the amount on my bill of leading (it was more than enough space; I ended up moving myself with a trailer that was smaller than the sq ft listed and still had room). When I tried to explain that I disagree and would like to see what it looks like in the van, the guy said no, said I was rude, canceled the move, and hung up on me. I never the canceled the move, they did, but when I tried to get a refund I was refused.While I understand that they hire separate brokers companies to come physically move items, when I called their customer service to complain about it, they weren't able to keep the broker in line and didn't help me at all, which should have been their job. I was actively being scammed and they did nothing to stop it nor help me out.

The scheduled pick-up window was the 30th-31st, yet I received no communication from them, and you provided no information on how to reach them.If your office is closed, you should ensure that everything is properly managed in advance so operations run smoothly during that time. Your Google listing states that you are open on Sundays, but I can’t reach anyone today. I don’t even know who my movers are because this information was not clearly communicated to me. The little bit of information I did receive shows that this “company” is no where to be found online. Now, I have no way of finding out whether they will show up at all today.If I wanted to be let down by an unreliable, non-accredited moving company, I would have hired one directly instead of using your service. The movers need to arrive today.

Then when the moving company showed (FYI Menards is just a broker) the moving company had an entirely different quote. They had already loaded my stuff, then we discovered the discrepancy, and Menards did nothing to resolve the issue, just told them to unload it. But this was after an hour of waiting for a response and trying to get in touch with someone. Now I can’t contact Tony, the person who originally promised my price. Tony, on a recorded call told me that my money was fully refundable if they did not complete my move. Now all of my stuff is back in my house and they have $1140 of my money.

The moving company showed up wanted an extra $4000.They went to their truck to call dispatch and left us. Menards refused to answer our calls. We had to dispute the credit card charge because they wouldn’t refund our deposit money. Don’t use these thieves, they are nothing but a big scam. Update - 6 weeks later, they disputed my credit card dispute. They’re still trying to charge me for a move that never happened. These guys are thieves..

They do not stick to their word , they increase their pricing at time of pick up and there is zero communication between them and the third party driving companies they hire to move your stuff after they have collected their payment. They also store your stuff in a warehouse for an extended period of time instead of doing the job themselves. They are scoundrels and even the driver said that this is not the first instance (of the same nature) that he has encountered with them. You are better off paying a little more to a more reputable company that has their stuff together because Menards IS NOT IT!!!!Mr Menard you need to stop scamming people and putting the blame on the customers asking them if they are a real person. You sound very unprofessional in your response comments and it shows. You take 0 responsibility and I’ve had almost the same problems as these other customers. I will gladly upload the entire signed contract with your logo on it if you would like.

Read More This is the WORST experience I have had with movers. Communication was AWFUL! They rarely answer the phone and when they do, they give you the run around then get upset with you for asking questions. The 3rd party movers they use are TERRIBLE! They were 2 days late which costed me money! Then their boss wouldn't answer his phone so they sat ay my place for 4 hours waiting on the "green light" from him! They were very unprofessional and disrespectful even the "boss" telling me "drink some wine and relax!" AWFUL! I am now missing items. I counted and took pictures of every single box. My couch and chair was light colored and now it's got black spots all over it. My TV stand is full of scratches. My $4k mattress is damaged and now unusable! This is NOT a company you need to use to move. They talk down to you like you're incapable of understanding... they gaslight you and refuse to take responsibility for their actions! RUN FAR AWAY!

They tell you they don’t sell your moving job, then they send Trusted Good Moving and Menards said I would have to pay with money order, cashiers check or cash, I paid with cashiers check they took it and they told me how much I would owe when they delivered and when they got here he said he had to call his boss because it was made out to Menards and they wouldn’t take it and the boss said I owe them $2500. More which they told me when the pick up my stuff they I owe $750.00. They said if I don’t pay it I don’t get my stuff. I started crying! I paid it because I just moved to Florida. I’m not done with this. Have to say the two men they picked up my stuff and the same two that dropped off my stuff were very nice they were only doing theirjob doing what the boss says. Which both bosses from two different companies are jokes make a quick buck. The first boss says we don’t sell your contract we will take care of you, well you did you screwed me bad! So hopefully anybody reading this will think twice before getting a moving company. Get a pod!!!!!!!!!!!
